Shuttle Buses

A shuttle bus is a cutaway or mid-size bus with forward-facing seats for roughly 20 to 40 passengers, a rear luggage area and, on the lift-equipped units, a wheelchair lift. It is built for wedding guest loops, hotel-to-venue transfers, corporate shuttles and airport groups. It is not built for an onboard celebration.

Shuttles are the forward-facing, practical middle ground between a Sprinter and a full coach: fast to load, easy to park, and cheap to run in a repeated loop. They are the vehicle we put on more wedding weekends than any other, because a shuttle can circle a hotel and a venue all evening while everyone else is dancing.

What is the difference between a shuttle bus and a coach?

A shuttle is mid-size with forward-facing seats and a rear luggage area; a coach is a full-size highway bus with under-floor bays, reclining seats and usually a restroom. We quote shuttles for loops and short hops and coaches for distance, because a shuttle turns around in a hotel driveway that a 45-foot coach cannot enter at all.

Do shuttle buses have wheelchair lifts?

Our lift-equipped shuttles do. Ask for one when you book and we will confirm the number of securement positions and build the extra boarding time into the schedule, so the lift is not what makes the ceremony late.

How many shuttles does a wedding actually need?

It depends on how far the hotel is from the venue and how long you want the last guest to wait. One 30-seat shuttle running a 20-minute round trip moves roughly 90 people an hour; add a second vehicle rather than a fourth lap if you have more than that and a hard ceremony start.
