Party Buses

A party bus is a shuttle- or coach-chassis vehicle rebuilt with wraparound perimeter seating, standing headroom, a club sound and lighting system and usually a bar area, seating roughly 15 to 40 people. It is built for nights with stops, where the ride between the stops is half the point. It is the wrong call for luggage-heavy or long-distance highway travel.

Our party buses run from about 14 seats up to 45, and the difference between them is not just headcount: floor length, bar size, how many people can dance at once and whether the thing can make the turn into a downtown venue all change with the build. We match the bus to the route, not just the number.

Not sure this is the right class? Send us the headcount, the stops and the time you need to arrive. If a different vehicle would serve the night better, we will say so and quote that one instead.

Party Bus facts that change the decision

Typical capacity14 to 45 seated passengers depending on the bus
Seating and layoutWraparound perimeter bench seating with standing headroom; the larger buses add poles, a dance floor and on some builds a restroom
Best for
  • Multi-stop nights: birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, bar crawls, brewery and winery loops
  • Groups of roughly 15 to 40 who want to stay together between stops
  • Trips where what happens on board matters more than luggage space
Usually a poor fit for
  • Formal arrivals where a low stretch limousine simply photographs better
  • Airport runs with real luggage, since there is no bay
  • All-day highway travel, where forward-facing coach seats and a restroom win
What your quote spells out
  • Seating capacity, and whether people can be up and moving while the bus is rolling in your state
  • The sound and lighting actually installed on the bus we are sending, down to the connection your phone uses
  • Our cooler, ice, glassware and alcohol policy for your pickup city, in writing on the quote
  • Where the bus can physically stop at each venue, and where it will wait between stops

Party Bus questions

Direct answers about capacity, rules and fit.

How many people fit on a party bus?

Ours run from about 14 to 45 seated. Seating capacity is the number that governs, and your contract names it for the bus you are getting. In practice a group two or three under the rated number rides better on perimeter seating, because the seats are measured to a narrow shoulder width and the corner spots are the hardest to climb out of at every stop. Tell us the real headcount and we will tell you which size we would send.

Can you drink alcohol on a party bus?

In most US markets, yes, if everyone on board is of legal drinking age. Rules come from state law and the license the vehicle runs under, and they are not uniform: some cities prohibit glass or hard liquor on board, and Canadian provinces are considerably stricter than most US states. We put the policy for your pickup city on the quote, and we stock coolers and ice so you are not carrying bags of it down the street.

Do party buses have a minimum number of hours?

Yes, and four hours is by far the most common block groups book. Prom nights, homecoming weekends and peak Saturdays in wedding season carry a higher minimum, because the bus cannot turn around fast enough to run twice. If your night is genuinely two hours, say so and we will tell you whether we can make it work or whether the minimum applies.

What is the difference between a party bus and a limo bus?

Nothing, really. The two names describe the same thing: a bus-chassis vehicle with perimeter seating, a bar area and event lighting. Judge it by seating capacity, floor length and what is actually installed on board rather than by which word is on the listing.
